The design is classic and original, they are made from thin terracotta to keep the water cool these water pots are cemented over the years as they crack, which gradually builds up patina. The villagers would have used a teak lid to cover the pot. Pieces like these are so much more fascinating than one mass manufactured by a machine in a nondescript factory and should be treasured.
