Returns and Refunds

Definitions
In these Conditions, unless the context permits otherwise:-
  1. “Buyer” the person who accepts the seller’s Quotation for the sale of the Goods or whose Order for the Goods is accepted by the Seller, including Consumer’s;
  2. “Conditions” the standard terms of sale set out in this document and (unless the context otherwise requires) including any applicable special terms agreed in writing between the Buyer and the Seller;
  3. “Consumer/you” has the meaning given to it under Regulation 4 of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013/3134;
  4. “Contract” the contract for the sale and purchase of the Goods;
  5. “Goods” the goods (including any instalment of the goods or any parts for them) which the Seller is to supply in accordance with these Conditions;
  6. “Order” means the written order placed by the Buyer requesting the Goods;
  7. “Quotation” means the document or correspondence provided by the Seller to the Buyer setting out the Goods to be provided;
  8. “Seller” means the entity specified in the Quotation and/or the Order being: Salty Ventures Ltd

A reference in these Conditions to a provision of a statute shall be construed as a reference to that provision as amended, re-enacted or extended at the relevant time.

The headings in these Conditions are for convenience only and shall not affect their interpretation.

Right to Cancel
You have the right to cancel this contract within 14 days of accepting delivery for any reason you are not satisfied. The cancellation period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you, or a third party other than the carrier indicated by you acquires, takes physical possession of the goods.

To exercise the right to cancel, you must inform the Seller of your decision to cancel this contract by a clear statement by email at the email address shown on the Order or the Quotation, giving details of the Goods ordered. To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right to cancel via email before the cancellation period has expired. 

Condition of Goods Returned 
Goods have to be returned in their original, undamaged condition, fit for resale. If the Goods were originally delivered disassembled, they should be returned in their disassembled forms. Goods should be repackaged carefully into their original packaging to avoid damage in transit.

You are liable for any diminished value of the Goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the Goods. If the returned Goods are damaged due to poor re-packaging resulting in a diminished value of the item, the Seller may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any Goods supplied.

Damaged Or Faulty Items Received By You
If you have received damaged or faulty Goods, please notify us within 48 hours of receipt of your order. To help us assist you with a replacement, kindly send us picture evidence showing faults and (or) damages of the Goods and our Customer Care Representative will coordinate a replacement or refund for you, depending on stock availability at the time. All returned damaged Goods must be in the original packaging, securely packed for collection.

If damages or faults are reported after 14 days of receipt, we may not be able to offer a full refund or exchange. However, please contact us and we will do our best to find a suitable solution for you. 

Effects of Cancellation
If you cancel this contract during the 14-day cancellation period, the Seller will reimburse all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery, if charged (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by the Seller). 

The Seller will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and no later than -(a) 14 days after the day we receive back from you any goods supplied, or 
(b) (if earlier) 14 days after the day you provide evidence that you have returned the goods, or
(c) if there were no goods supplied, 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to cancel this contract.

We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of the reimbursement. Seller may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.

You shall send back the goods or hand them over to us without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your cancellation of this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired.

Unsuccessful Delivery
In cases where a delivery schedule has been agreed upon with our couriers, please ensure that you will be available to receive the delivery. Additional non-refundable delivery costs will apply for unsuccessful deliveries or re-delivery. 

Return Procedure
Please ensure that the Goods were received by you in the last 14 days. Get in touch here or via email with the following information so we can process a return.

  • Your name
  • Order number
  • Your Address
  • Email address
  • Contact number
  • Date of purchase
  • Date the goods were received by you
  • If you originally ordered multiple items, which do you want to return?
  • Pictures of the product, if the received product is faulty

When we approve a return, you will be provided with a return address. Please do not send returns back to our office address, our office does not accept returns. All returns sent to our office address will be rejected. Returns should only be sent to our warehouse or our supplier's warehouses. You will be provided with return instructions and a return address upon confirmation.

Sending A Return Back To Us
If you exercise your right of cancellation after the Goods have been delivered, you will have to bear the full cost of returning the goods to the Seller. The goods must be returned to the address specified by the Seller. Some of our Goods may have delicate physical properties and the transportation of these items is a difficult business. You must take reasonable care to ensure the goods are not damaged in the meantime or in transit.

The onus is upon the Buyer to ensure that the return courier shipment is fully insured to the value of the shipment (retail price). If you do not return the goods as required, the Seller may charge you a sum not exceeding the direct costs of recovering the goods.

Fireplaces and Electrical Appliances 
Fireplaces and electrical appliances can be returned only if it has not been used or installed and is returned in the original packaging. When accepting delivery of the Goods, kindly make sure you scan the box for damage and remove the packaging to inspect the Goods. Please note that the fireplaces and appliances cannot be returned once it has been installed.

Sale Items
Sale items can be refunded.

Bespoke, Customised or Personalised Items
You do not have the right to cancel the contract if the order is for the supply of certain Goods, including Goods that are made to your specifications or are clearly personalised or Goods that are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly.
